Happy Birthday, Mike D!
Yep, Mike D from the Beastie Boys is 41 today. I can only hope that when I'm his age I won't be prancing around on stage co-opting a black musical form and making music videos. Actually, it's a pretty safe bet that I won't.
Extreme Instability is the website of storm chaser Mike Hollingshead. There are some amazing pictures here of weather patterns we never see where I live (tornadoes, supercell thunderstorms, etc). He also sells DVDs and reprinted photos of his exploits.
TV Links has a lot of links to TV shows that you can watch online. Great for those backwards folks who don't have a TiVo yet.
This site, simply titled Things I Find Curious, has a diverse collection of pages about all sorts of stuff. You can click around forever in there.
Check out this video of a robot machine-gun sentry. The ultimate in home security. The beginning of the video is kind of funny, with the guys in camouflage running around in fast-forward. The rest is just scary. Talk about aimbots.
Here's a nifty picture from NASA of the recent transit of Mercury.
It's high time for this -- a battery you can recharge just by plugging it into a spare USB port.
And finally, this guy has way too much time on his hands, although he's obviously talented. Check out his masterpieces drawn on dusty windshields.
